Under the direction of Greg Gillis, a fully qualified actuary and CFA Charterholder, with over 27 years of successful actuarial, investment and pension consulting experience, our Pension & Actuarial Services division offers unparalleled expertise in the following areas:

Establishment & Management of Executive Pension Arrangements for Business Owners and Executives
The strategies we bring to our clients include the use of individual registered pension plans (IPP's), unregistered supplemental pension arrangements, Retirement Compensation Arrangements (RCA's), and the unique use of insurance and investment products to minimize tax exposure and maximize wealth and estate-planning opportunities to individuals and to shareholders, executives and key employees within an organization. We offer complete design consultation, investment management, and actuarial and administration services for each of these strategies.

Defined Contribution Pension Consulting &  Related Services
Our services to Defined Contribution Pension Plans, Group RRSP's, and Employee Savings Plans include plan design and investment consultation, plan administration services, manager selection and performance monitoring, employee education and communication, legislative compliance and plan governance services, and Capital Accumulation Plan ("CAP") guidelines establishment, monitoring, and compliance.  We successfully assist plan sponsors in the effective development and management of their plans by ensuring that the design is relevant to both their company's objectives and to their employee group's needs, that all administrative and legislative requirements are met, and that all participants understand and receive optimal value from the plan.

Defined Benefit Pension Consulting, Actuarial, &  Investment Services
Our services to Defined Benefit Pension Plans, including registered pension plans and supplemental pension arrangements for employee groups and executives, include the execution of all actuarial requirements and plan administration services, consultation on plan design, communication to employee groups, the establishment and review of plan investment strategies and Investment Policy Statements, the selection and monitoring of investment managers, and legislative compliance and plan governance services.  Our approach to defined benefit consulting is to apply our expertise to the establishment of comprehensive objectives with the plan sponsor, and then assist in the successful execution of those objectives in a manner that best serves the interests of all parties, in a cost effective manner.

Litigation and Related Actuarial Support to the Legal Community
We provide complete actuarial services in both plaintiff and defense capacities in the areas of loss of income claims, division of marital property claims (including advice and reports on pension valuation for marital property purposes), calculation of life interest in estate property, valuation of disability claim settlements, and the valuation of medical costs and losses in medical malpractice, injury, or other civil matters.  Our professional reports and expert testimony have been accepted as expert evidence in the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench, and have been used to assist in the successful settlement of scores of cases throughout Manitoba and in a number of other jurisdictions.
