Rowland was born and raised in Winnipeg in an extended family, where he developed an early interest in economics. Following graduation from university, he worked in Mexico from 1998-99 with the US Government. Upon returning to Canada , Rowland was employed as a financial adviser at a leading Winnipeg-based financial services organization for a number of years. Deciding to branch out, he joined Lawton Partners in 2004.

In addition to Rowland's many strengths as a financial planner, his extensive background in economics, sciences and natural resources provides his clients and Lawton Partners with cutting edge insight into investment and planning opportunities associated with these highly technical and complex fields.
